Important informations pertaining to Counselling

Venue of Counselling

Important documents to be brought positively by the candidates during Counselling
(a) Counselling application form (down-loaded) duly filled in along with attested copy of passport size photo and signed in specified places.
(b) Down-loaded JEM-2011 / AIEEE – 2011 Rank Card
(c) Original Admit Card of JEM – 2011 / AIEEE – 2011
(d) Original Admit Card / Certificate of Madhyamik (10th standard) or equivalent examination or Birth Certificate from competent authority for verification of Age.
(e) Original Mark Sheet of Higher Secondary (10+2 standard) or equivalent examination for verification of the marks
(f) In case of SC / ST category of the State of West Bengal and PC category original SC / ST / PC certificates issued by the competent authority for verification. The PC candidates claiming seats under reserved category are required to produced PC certificates from the competent authority satisfying the following criteria :
For admission to BE / B Tech / B Arch courses : - For PC (loco motor disorder, visual impairment, speech and hearing impairment) category candidate a minimum of 40% disability is required subject to the condition that the candidate is capable of carrying out all activities related to thory and practical work as applicable to BE / B Tech / B Arch courses without any special concession and exemption. The PC candidates belonging to states other than West Bengal are not entitled for admission to Government Engineering colleges.
In case of the candidates of the State of West Bengal claiming seats under “Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme” (TFW) in addition to above Income Certificate from the competent person (details of which have been mentioned here) and Domicile Certificate in the prescribed format as given in the Application form of JEM-2011 issued by any of the competent authorities as mentioned under 1 clause 3.3 of the Information Brochure of JEM-2011 for production during counseling for verification.
(g) Original NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture) clearance certificate (applicable for those intending to take admission to B. Architecture course).
(h) Attested Xerox copies of all testimonials for the purpose of admission.
Details of Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme
Counselling Fee
Counselling fee of Rs. 500/- (non-refundable) to be paid in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order payable at Kolkata to be drawn in favour of Central Selection Committee (E&T). The Demand Draft / Pay Order may be purchased from any Bank on and from 01.07.2011.
The candidate should bring the said Demand Draft / Pay Order at the time of Counselling writing his name and Enrolment No. and Rank on the back side of the Draft with ball point pen.
Counselling fee is to be deposited during the Counselling. Before reporting to marks verification counter, a candidate is required to deposit the Demand Draft of Rs. 500/- to the Axis Bank Counter(s) (Ground floor) opened at the Counselling venue and obtain the receipt for the same in the form of Bank Slip.
This Bank Slip should be kept very carefully and shall have to be submitted at the Counselling desk by the candidate before taking the allotment letter. Without Bank slip allotment letter will not be issued.
Spot admission to
(a) Self financing Private Engineering Colleges
The candidates are required to bring with them a Demand Draft / Pay Order for Rs. 15,000/- (Rupees fifteen thousand only) to be drawn in favour of “APAI WB” payable at Kolkata. The said Demand Draft / Pay Order may be purchased from any Bank and to be submitted as initial deposit to the Counter of the concerned College to which allotment has been made by the Central Selection Committee (E&T) after Counselling. If by mistake any candidates brings Cash, he/she will have to deposit the same to the Axis Bank counter (1st Floor) near the College counters in the Counselling venue and submit the relevant Bank slip to the respective College.
The collected initial amount will be paid back to the respective Colleges by APAI WB. In the event of not taking admission after deposit of the Demand Draft / Pay Order or not continuing after taking admission the question of refund of money, if any, will be decided by the respective Colleges and not by CSC(E&T). The amount of Rs. 15,000/- paid by any candidate as initial deposit will be ultimately adjusted by the respective College against the total admission fee payable by him / her.
(b) Govt Engineering Colleges
The candidates are required to bring with them an amount of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) only in cash plus requisite Demand Draft / Pay Order charges and to be deposited to the Bank Counter opened at the Counselling venue after receipt of allotment letter and to obtain a receipt for the same.
Counselling for AIEEE Rank Holders
(a) 10% seats in the self financing Private Engineering colleges will be filled up from the AIEEE candidates called for Counselling on the basis of rank.
(b) If any candidate accepts allotment on the basis of his / her AIEEE rank, he / she will not be permitted to appear further in the Counselling on the basis of his / her WBJEE rank.
(c) Counselling of AIEEE candidates in terms of schedule shall continue till that time seats are available in any branch of any self financing Private Engineering college and will be stopped as soon as the last vacant seat is filled up and no further queries in this regard will be entertained.
Eligibility criteria (Applicable for both JEM-2011 and AIEEE-2011 candidates)  
Academic requirements
For admission to degree courses in Engineering / Technology :
Minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together in Higher Secondary (10+2 standard) or equivalent examination as well as at least 30% marks in English (for all category of candidates) with individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Vernacular (or any other fifth subject) in the aforesaid qualifying Examination.
Age restriction
The candidates must be 17 years of age or above as on 31.12.2011.
