how much difference is there in IT & CSE? is there any such thing that the recruiters give more preferences while recruiting to cse students than IT?

on 2013-07-16 09:30:00Yes obviously.CSE is a much preferred course than IT by recruiters.CSE includes more in-depth concepts behind different techniques or the logics/mathematics behind some algorithm/software in computer science.IT is more of an application-based subject whereas CSE is more of a concept-oriented subject.Maybe CSE and IT engineers acquire almost the same level of knowledge sometimes,but still CSE is a much deemed subject in industry.Obviously successful persons in IT industry can also come from IT background.It depends upon the student.

on 2013-08-08 09:30:00Thanks for the answer @ saptarshi.I had got an oppurtunity to study IT in st.thomas.But I switched to CSE in netaji subhash(technocity, garia) just for the sake of stream.So,your answer relieves me.:)

on 2013-08-13 09:30:00everything is same in wbut. recruiters take equally from both stream. there's nothing deep in cse.
