MY avg upto 7th sem was 7.63..now i have score 8.85 in 8th sem..bt my DGPA is given as 7.63..why?

DGPA is calculated using a different formula as compared to the CGPA or the average as you say. DGPA for WBUT, as far as I know is calculated according to the formula YGPA(1st year + 2nd Year+ 1.5*(3rd Year+4th Year)/5 .
