JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (JEM) - 2014
It is the Entrance Test for admission to different degree level Engineering & Technology/ Dairy Technology/ Pharmacy/ Agricultural Engineering etc as well as degree level Medical/ Dental course in Universities/ University Departments/ Government colleges as well as Self Financing Colleges of the State of West Bengal.

Age Restriction : Candidates must be 17 (seventeen) years of age or above on 31.12.2014. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering Course for which upper age limit is 25 years as 31.07.2014.
Important Eligibility Criteria : General candidates must secure at least 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories) in 10 + 2. According to the new rule, candidates who have studied any allied subject of Chemistry (e.g. Computer Science, Mechanics or Bio-Technology) with 45% marks would be eligible for respective disciplines.
Question Pattern : In each subject all questions will be Multiple Choice Questions divided into three categories of questions, one mark MCQ, two marks MCQ with single correct answer and the two marks MCQ with multiple answers.
Examination Centres : In West Bengal, Tripura, Assam and Andaman (proposed) only.
Changes in WBJEE 2014 :
- An increase in the 2 marks MCQ with multiple correct answers category has been proposed with a reduction of the questions in the other categories.
