on 2010-08-26 09:30:00CGPA matters only for particular companies who allow to sit only top 10 or 20 students from a stream in campussing. 7 or more than 7 is a very good CGPA as most companies require 6.5 or 7.0 Average starting salary depends on each college and company, like TCS gave 3.1 this year in most colleges of WBUT. Obviously, companies with foreign backgroud will pay more salary than Indian companies, but they generally do not prefer WBUT college for recruitement.

on 2010-10-30 09:30:00tcs-3.1 cognizant-3.1, ibm-3.23 satyam-3, wipro-2.75-3.0 accenture-2.75 capgemini-2.5 infosys-3.1-3.25 more or less in hand u would get around 18-20 thosand as your starting salary
